Combining decades of experience and deep industry knowledge with collaborative and practical risk management programs, Sompo’s Risk Control experts monitor emerging trends and risks and work with clients to minimize their loss potential and stay ahead of the unexpected. We take a collaborative approach to provide our clients with risk control services specific to their business. We work with each insured to tailor our recommendations and identify cost-effective solutions for mitigating risks. As a Multi-Line Risk Control Specialist, you will provide key risk improvement consultation for our large and middle-market commercial property clients with highly valued or complex property risks
Location: This position is remote, with a preference for candidates based in the Northeast (e.g., NY, NJ, PA, CT, MA, etc.)

What you’ll be doing:
Conduct onsite facility evaluations identify operational exposures and assess if they are adequately controlled to prevent/mitigate losses
Compiles facts from on-site visits and various reports and databases to assess existing processes/practices, determine the severity/frequency of problems, and identify needs
Conducts research and data collection, which helps to identify customer's sources of risk, loss, and costs
Complete detailed reports for each covered line of business (Property, General Liability, Auto, & Workers Compensation, etc.) to assist our underwriting groups with account acceptability and insurability
Assist in determining if facility protection (fire suppression systems, alarm systems, etc.) is acceptable for the building occupancy, exposures, and special hazards
Calculate Loss Expectancies, such as primarily PML’s and MFL’s
Assist customers with evaluating, developing and implementing safety policies, programs, and procedures specific to each account and loss exposure
Develop, coordinate, and conduct safety/risk management seminars and training programs for accounts to promote awareness and reduce claim frequency and severity.
Formulate comprehensive loss analyses to identify loss trends to develop and execute service plans for qualified accounts
Assesses and benchmarks customers' performance against internal and industry standards
Actively participates in acquiring new business by presenting service capabilities and proposals to potential insureds
Provides outstanding service to internal and external clients
What you’ll bring:
Minimum 5 years of Commercial P&C insurance risk control experience preferred
Property risk evaluation experience required
CSP, ARM or other related certification
Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA Standards, and DOT regulations
Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas to drive our business
A self-starter who can initiate and complete projects with minimal supervision
Ability to travel by car and plane up to 25%
Ability to lift and climb ladders and go on roofs
Undergraduate degree or equivalent demonstrable industry experience
Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
