Job summary

Combined Metals is seeking a skilled furnace operator to support production across multiple machines and ensure quality materials. You will inspect materials, document work orders, and assist with setup and scheduling while maintaining a clean work area.

The role requires the ability to read technical documents, strong problem-solving, and effective communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• String payoff; point, weld, and grind material as applicable
• Inspect material during processing to ensure quality
• Complete all documentation and turn in a work order
• Know how to die set-ups and basic scheduling techniques
• Set up and run more than one machine when needed (BB-14, BB-22, HRD)
• Ensure work area is clean and excess materials are properly tagged
• Properly use a micrometer
• Train new operators, if necessary
• Cut samples for quality control
• Operate a crane and a forklift
• Assist the production manager and other operators as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Pay or shift range: $17 USD to $20 USD

• String payoff; point, weld, and grind material as applicable

• Complete all documentation and turn in a work order to the supervisor
• Know how to die set-ups and basic scheduling techniques
• Set up and run more than one machine when needed, i.e. BB-14, BB-22, HRD
• Ensure work area is clean and excess materials are properly tagged
• Properly use a micrometer
• Train new operators, if necessary
• Cut samples for quality control
• Operate a crane and a forklift
• Assist the production manager and other operators as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• 2+ years experience in furnace operation.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
• Proficiency with using tools and machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
