Qualifications

• Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar hands-on accounting leadership experience.
• Strong background in the construction space; Excel and Sage experience huge plus.
• Comfortable managing accounting across multiple entities and multiple construction projects.
• Strong month-end close, financial statement, GL, and reconciliation experience.
• Experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity reporting.
• Experience managing and developing an accounting team.
• Able to stay hands-on in the details while still thinking bigger picture.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift.
• Fully onsite in the greater Burlington area.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close across multiple entities and active construction projects.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and key account reconciliations.
• Keep a close eye on intercompany activity, allocations, eliminations, and balances between related entities.
• Track project and company performance, dig into variances, and flag anything that needs attention.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Work directly with ownership on financial trends, planning, and business decisions.
• Partner with outside accountants on tax filings, year-end reporting, and other compliance needs.
• Help tighten up accounting processes, controls, and reporting as the business continues to grow.
• Get more out of Sage and Excel to improve reporting and work around system limitations when needed.
• Lead the accounting team and help keep priorities moving across the department.
