Job summary

Interactive Resources - iR in the United States seeks an experienced Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations for a multi-entity organization. This hands-on role oversees an accounting team of 11 across five departments, managing financial reporting, systems, compliance, and retirement plan administration.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic accounting leader with strong technical expertise, excellent communication, and a passion for process improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent experience preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Experience managing accounting teams in a multi-entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
• Experience with accounting systems administration and financial reporting tools.
• Working knowledge of the modified cash basis of accounting.
• Experience administering or supporting a 401(k) plan is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop an accounting team of 11 across multiple functional areas.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across the accounting organization.
• Oversee all financial reporting for multiple affiliated entities.
• Manage daily accounting activities for the parent company and investment accounts.
• Supervise accounting operations for affiliated business lines and property accounting.
• Prepare specialized financial reports to support executive decision-making.
• Maintain fixed asset depreciation schedules and related journal entries.
• Coordinate the annual financial statement preparation and external CPA review.
• Ensure accurate application of the modified cash basis of accounting.
• Serve as the primary administrator of the accounting system and ensure data integrity.
• Lead system enhancements, user access management, and reporting improvements.
• Support rollout of financial reporting access to operational leadership.
• Ensure compliance with IRS reporting requirements and applicable accounting regulations.
• Serve as Plan Administrator for the company's 401(k) plan and review participant distributions.
• Coordinate annual census, testing, and compliance with third-party administrators.
• Lead annual audit preparation and act as liaison with plan service providers.
• Participate as a voting member of the 401(k) committee.
• Partner with executive leadership on financial initiatives and strategic planning.
• Provide accounting guidance to affiliated entities.
• Present financial statements and business results clearly to managers and leaders.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
