Job summary

LHH is seeking a Controller for a growing organization in the distribution industry located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This role will build out the accounting and finance infrastructure, overseeing financial close, reporting, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting, and cross-functional finance initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, at least five years of progressive accounting experience, and preferably a CPA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience supporting multiple entities strongly preferred.
• Background within distribution, construction, and/or engineering preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and management accounting concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to create and improve accounting processes in a growing environment.
• Willingness to work in an in-office environment.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enhance the accounting infrastructure, internal controls and operating rhythm.
• Support integration of newly acquired businesses including opening balance reviews and system alignment.
• Oversee month-end accounting across multiple entities with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial statements for accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting and forecasting and provide insights.
• Maintain accounting practices aligned with U.S. GAAP and internal reporting.
• Manage banking activities and daily cash management needs.
• Provide information for annual external audits and corporate tax processes.
• Support annual inventory counts and related balance reviews with operations teams.
• Handle additional accounting, finance and special projects as needed.
