Job summary

Diamond Custom Homes, a luxury Southwest Florida builder, seeks a Controller to lead accounting for three entities. The role drives financial reporting, controls, budgets, and cash flow across construction, interior design, and property management operations.

The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting, develop robust reporting, improve processes, and partner with ownership on strategic financial decisions. Strong GAAP knowledge and QuickBooks mastery are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with construction accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting functions for three related companies.
• Ensure accurate monthly financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close.
• Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations.
• Monitor internal controls and procedures.
• Coordinate with outside CPA for annual tax prep.
• Supervise AP/AR and client invoicing.
• Review vendor invoices and payment processing.
• Oversee cash receipts, deposits, and bank reconciliations.
• Develop budgets and cash flow forecasts.
• Support ownership with strategic financial decisions.
