Job summary

3M is seeking a Multi-Craft Technician in Alexandria, MN. You will troubleshoot, repair and install diverse production equipment, including motors, pumps, and control systems, while following diagrams and manuals.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, tool use, and collaboration with operators and engineers. The position emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and readiness to operate in confined or elevated spaces.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechatronics or equivalent required; or HS diploma with 5+ years maintenance experience.
• Experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Rockwell PLC and Drive Programming skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and/or install production equipment including motors, generators, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Operate hand and power tools and shop equipment.
• Work in cramped or elevated locations and hazardous environments.
• Apply electrical, mechanical and control theory to improve equipment reliability.
• Communicate with operators, engineers and leadership to support continuous improvement.
