Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Multi-craft Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve production equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

The role starts at $37.32 per hour with a 4-shift operation; permanent shift A/B/C/D schedule may apply and overtime is possible. A 2-year technical degree and 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience are required, with PLC/blueprint reading beneficial.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or higher in Electrical Maintenance field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of documented Industrial Maintenance experience or equivalent Military experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and operating basic machine tools and performing minor welding.
• Ability to install bearings, chains, sprockets and power transmission systems.
• Working knowledge of PLC logic, VFDs, servo drives and 3-phase power.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Realign and adjust mechanical components and install/repair electrical/mechanical systems.
• Conduct mechanical and electromechanical tests to verify unit function or diagnose failures.
• Use predictive maintenance tools such as IR Thermography, Oil Analysis, and Ultrasonic Testing.
• Maintain qualification status on equipment within assigned departments and operate safely.
