Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Madera, CA is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment. The role emphasizes safety and teamwork, supporting uptime and reliability to meet production and quality goals.

You'll work on mechanical and electrical systems, read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and follow safety rules. 3rd shift 3:00 PM–11:00 PM; wage $32.00-$37.00 per hour; benefits included.

Qualifications

• At least five (5) years of maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
• At least five (5) years in manufacturing using high speed automated systems or processes
• At least five (5) years’ experience reading technical drawings and electrical schematics
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment

Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
• Mechanical: Install and repair drives, hydraulics/pneumatics, hoisting, alignment, lubrication, bearings, pumps, conveyors
• Electrical: Read schematics, troubleshoot AC/DC motors up to 480V 3-phase
• Perform maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe, timely manner
• Research manuals and software for equipment to aid in task execution
• Work a 3rd shift; overtime as needed

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Help to meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
• Mechanical: Install and Repair Mechanical Drives, Fasteners, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Hoisting/Rigging, Alignment/Couplings, Lubrication, Bearings/Seals, Mechanical Drive Systems, Blueprints/Drawings, Precision Measuring Tools, Welding/Fabrication, Pipefitting, Pumps, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
• Electrical: Read Schematic/Symbols, Electrical Safe work Practices, voltmeter troubleshooting circuits in series/parallel, AC/DC motors, up to 480 - 3phase volt motors
• Perform all maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner
• Upload/download and research online the necessary software, maintenance and operation manual for equipment pertaining to the business to aid in performing tasks
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high-volume environment
• Support our safe working environment by maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed

Basic Qualifications

• At least five (5) years of maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
• At least five (5) years in manufacturing using high speed automated systems or processes
• At least five (5) years’ experience reading technical drawings and electrical schematics
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment

What Will Put You Ahead

• Electrical Certification, technical schooling earned or other related educational certifications/degrees
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors and electrical/mechanical equipment
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry
• Experience working with 480-volt motors
• Experience working with hydraulic & pneumatic systems

For this role, we anticipate paying $32.00 - $37.00 per hour.
