Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for our Corrugated facility in Olympia, WA. You will adhere to safety guidelines, perform preventive maintenance, install and repair mechanical drives, chains, gears, belts and couplings, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role requires at least three years of industrial maintenance experience, ability to read schematics, and willingness to work any shift.

Qualifications

• At least three years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and predictive tasks.
• Troubleshooting bearings, chains, gearboxes, conveyors and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines and procedures.
• Support production goals through a quality maintenance program.
• Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts and couplings.
• Perform preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
• Research equipment manuals and software to aid maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and repair equipment per policy.
• Read and interpret mechanical/electrical schematics.
• Complete preventive maintenance activities and support automated systems.

Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join our Corrugated facility in Olympia, WA! Please note that Maintenance Technicians must provide their own set of basic tools. Specialty tools needed will be provided by Georgia-Pacific.

$1500 retention bonus! ($500 after 90 days of employment, remaining $1,000 after 180 days of employment)

Salary

• $37.90 - $44.56 per hour
• Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered.

Shift Hours

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Monday Night)
• PM shift: 6:00am-4:30pm
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

What You Will Do

• Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Helping to meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
• Installing and repairing mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings
• Perform all maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner
• Upload/download and research online the necessary software, maintenance and operation manual for equipment pertaining to the business to aid in performing tasks
• Troubleshooting electrical and/or mechanical problems and repairing and maintaining all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures
• Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics
• Completing mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities
• Troubleshooting and repairing automated systems with remote technical support

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• At least three (3) years of maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
• Experience reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Experience working with hydraulic & pneumatic systems.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience working with 480-volt motors.
• Experience working in the corrugated industry.
• Electrical Certification, technical schooling earned or other related educational certifications/degrees.
