Job summary

HEXPOL Compounding in Whitewater, Wisconsin is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to install, repair, and maintain production, facility, and electrical equipment, applying preventive maintenance and wiring knowledge to keep machines running safely.

You will read blueprints, program PLCs, perform troubleshooting, and participate in training, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement; the role requires a high school diploma and 3 years of manufacturing maintenance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • 3 years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and maintenance records.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical and control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, maintain, and align production and electrical equipment.
  • Design, program, repair, and maintain PLC systems.
  • Complete work orders and preventive maintenance rounds.
  • Diagnose problems and determine repairs; reorder supplies as needed.
  • Ensure safety procedures and PPE are followed; train associates as directed.

Job description

Overview

To maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment in proper repair and working condition according to schedule, fabricating basic machine parts and providing replacement parts. To install, test, service, troubleshoot, and repair all facility electrical equipment and systems.

US-Wisconsin-Whitewater

Hours

Monday – Friday 5:15 am – 1:30 pm with overtime as required.

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, maintain, move, align, erect, and install production, facility, and electrical equipment, often to close tolerances, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical maintenance knowledge.
  • Design, program, repair, and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
  • Complete work orders, preventive maintenance rounds, repairs, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose problems and determine the extent of necessary repairs; repair, refit, or replace parts.
  • Reorder supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Lay out carpentry work and specify materials; include finishing and masonry work.
  • Notify the supervisor or designated personnel of any irregularities or problems encountered with supplies, machinery, or processes.
  • Participate in training sessions, seminars, and continual improvement opportunities.
  • Verify that the working area and equipment are safe before proceeding with duties; check all safety equipment and follow all facility safety rules and procedures, wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to lock‑out/tag‑out procedures when equipment is down for repair or cleaning.
  • Keep tools clean and maintain identified tool boards while keeping the workstation and surrounding area clean and organized.
  • Keep equipment in safe operating condition and report problems to the Maintenance department.
  • Participate in training of new associates as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform any other project or task as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desired; an associate or technical degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, service manuals, and maintenance records.
  • Solid understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, HVAC, and rubber industry production equipment, including internal combustion engines and single- and three-phase electric motors.
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Strong computer and systems skills – proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with e‑maintenance systems is a plus.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong cooperation, collaboration, analytical, diagnostic, and organizational skills.
  • High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, and self‑motivation.
  • Ability to manage demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events through organization, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to coach and train associates and interact well with all personality types.
