Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Night Shift | Direct Hire | $30–$40/hr DOE

HTI is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing facility in the greater Hickory, NC area. This is a direct-hire opportunity supporting production equipment in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

This role is a good fit for an industrial maintenance technician with a well-rounded background in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Technicians will support day-to-day equipment reliability, respond to production issues, complete preventive maintenance, and work with the maintenance team to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shift
• 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating 2-2-3 schedule
• Every other weekend off

Compensation & Development

• $30–$40/hr starting pay based on experience

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and electronic production equipment.
• Respond to equipment issues and determine the appropriate repair or corrective action.
• Troubleshoot control panels, motors, electrical circuits, sensors, and related machine components.
• Perform mechanical repairs involving bearings, shafts, belts, drives, and other production equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Support equipment installations, repairs, and modifications.
• Use volt/ohm/amp meters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, power tools, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Assist with maintaining equipment reliability and production uptime.
• Document maintenance activity and communicate equipment conditions and repair needs.
• Work closely with production, maintenance leadership, and other technical resources when needed.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Participate in training and skill‑development programs.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and meet at least one of the following:

Associate Degree in:

• Electrical Technology
• Electronics Technology
• Mechanical Technology

OR

Military Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of military service with technical training in electrical, electronics, or mechanical systems

OR

Industrial Maintenance Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of on-the-job experience in industrial electrical, electronics, or mechanical maintenance

Additional Requirements

• Hands‑on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical production equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical circuits, motors, control panels, and related components.
• Ability to perform low- through high-voltage electrical work.
• Ability to install and wire electrical circuits.
• Ability to perform mechanical maintenance and repair work.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Basic PLC troubleshooting or exposure.
• SAP experience.
• Experience in automated or continuous‑process manufacturing.
• Previous multi‑craft industrial maintenance experience.

Work Environment

• Clean, climate‑controlled manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work around industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Ability to work in areas that may occasionally include dust, oil, grease, noise, heat, or humidity.
• Required use of appropriate PPE.
• Fast‑paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety, reliability, and production support.
