Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for our Batavia, NY corrugated sheet feeder facility. The role focuses on safely installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to keep operations running efficiently with strong mechanical and electrical skills.

The position offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus and $35.50 per hour, with a 3rd shift differential of $1.50. Orientation begins on 1st shift, then moves to 3rd shift; overtime and weekends are required as needed.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of industrial, electrical and mechanical experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical AND electrical issues.
  • Experience with PLC interface pattern control
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems and repairing and maintaining all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Installing and repairing mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings.
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Using hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring devices and testing instruments.
  • Completing mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities.
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day, in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment.

This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills with a focus on safe work practices.

  • This position offers a $2,500 sign on bonus
  • $35.50per hour (determined based on skill and experience)
  • 3rd Shift Differential= $1.50
  • You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the plant.
Shift:
  • Currently hiring for3 rd shift only.
  • The first(2-4) weeks of orientationwill be on1st shift (7am - 3pm), then you will be assigned to your3rd shift after your orientation.
  • This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
Shift Hours:
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM(Starts Monday night)
  • Overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

What You Will Do

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Three (3) years of industrial, electrical and mechanical experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical AND electrical issues.
  • Experience with PLC interface pattern control
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • A certificate of electrical or mechanical training from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with single and three phase electrical repair/troubleshooting up to 480 volts.
  • Prior maintenance experience in the packaging industry with focus on converting/corrugating equipment.
