Job summary

Jobtailor in Ohio is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain production machinery, fabricate parts, install and repair electrical equipment, and program PLC systems to keep operations running smoothly.

You will read blueprints and service manuals, use MS Office for recordkeeping, coach and train junior associates, and participate in safety programs with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Three years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, service manuals, and maintenance records.
  • Strong math and measurement skills; able to read a tape measure.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems.

  • Maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment in proper repair and working condition.
  • Fabricate basic machine parts and replacement parts.
  • Install, test, service, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and systems.
  • Program, repair, and maintain PLC systems.
  • Complete work orders, preventive maintenance rounds, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose problems and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Read blueprints and service manuals to support maintenance tasks.
  • Train Associates as directed.

Job description

  • Maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment in proper repair and working condition
  • Fabricate basic machine parts and mechanical equipment parts and provide replacement parts
  • Install, test, service, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical equipment and systems
  • Install, repair, maintain, move, align, and erect production, facility, and electrical equipment
  • Design, program, repair, and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems
  • Complete work orders, preventive maintenance rounds, repairs, and general maintenance
  • Diagnose problems and determine necessary repairs; repair, refit, or replace parts
  • Reorder supplies and equipment as needed
  • Lay out carpentry work and specify materials, including finishing and masonry work
  • Notify supervisors of irregularities or problems with supplies, machinery, or processes
  • Participate in training sessions, seminars, and continual improvement opportunities
  • Follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
  • Clean tools, maintain tool boards, and keep the workstation and surrounding area organized
  • Keep equipment in safe operating condition and report problems to Maintenance
  • Train new Associates as directed
  • Perform other projects or tasks assigned by Management
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent is desired
  • Associate Degree or Technical degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • Successful completion of Competency Assessment may be considered in lieu of education
  • Three (3) years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, service manuals, and maintenance records
  • Understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, HVAC, rubber industry production equipment, internal combustion engines, and single- and three-phase electric motors
  • Ability to perform basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Strong computer/systems skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with E-Maintenance is a plus
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
