Job summary

Motlow State Community College is seeking adjunct English Learning Support Faculty to join a pool of part-time instructors across campuses in Middle Tennessee. Courses align with catalog descriptions and syllabi; teaching dual enrollment at area high schools may be included.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in English or a qualifying field and relevant graduate hours; a Doctoral degree and CC teaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s degree in discipline or qualifying field by the application date.
• If Master’s is in any field, at least 18 graduate hours in discipline or qualifying field.
• Qualifying fields include English, English Education, Literature, Journalism, Juris-Doctorate, Technical Writing.
• Preferred: Doctoral degree and 3 years of Community College teaching experience; ability to teach additional Motlow fields.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses as assigned in accordance with catalog descriptions and syllabi; teach dual enrollment classes at area high schools; travel to multiple campuses.
• Collaborate with faculty, department lead, and leadership on curricular and programmatic needs.
• Support students and college operations; work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Stay current with developments in the teaching discipline and incorporate updates into instruction.
• Support curricular and co-curricular activities within the college.
• Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester as assigned.
• Maintain availability to communicate with and meet students; attend meetings as requested.
• Respond promptly to Dean’s requests and submit paperwork timely.
• Perform duties in accordance with TBR and MSCC policies; other duties as assigned.

Master’s degree in discipline or a qualifying field earned from a regionally accredited institution by the application date

Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field earned from a regionally accredited college or university by the application date
