Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a MuleSoft Tech Lead to design, build, and maintain integration solutions on the Anypoint Platform. You will lead API design, data transformations, and system integrations across enterprise applications.

In this hybrid role, expect 2 days weekly in a San Francisco office. You will mentor engineers, drive API lifecycle management, and ensure security and performance standards are met to support mission-critical services.

Qualifications

• 10–13 years of enterprise integration experience and proven technical leadership.
• Hands-on expertise with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform including API-led connectivity, Mule apps, and DataWeave.
• Deep experience with API Manager and end-to-end API lifecycle management (design, governance, analytics, monitoring).
• Experience with AWS Kiro or similar AI-assisted, specification-driven engineering tools for designs, code, tests, and repeatable workflows.
• Strong knowledge of API and integration security—authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection.
• Experience building resilient integrations with logging, monitoring, and incident response.
• Utilities domain exposure, preferably outage management or critical service integrations.
• MuleSoft Certification or equivalent architecture certification with strong stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable integration solutions using MuleSoft and AWS Kiro.
• Drive end-to-end API lifecycle management from design to deployment and governance.
• Define reusable API-led patterns, frameworks, payload structures, and security standards.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for architecture, development, reviews, testing, and QA.
• Implement strong authentication, authorization, encryption, logging, monitoring, and alerts.
• Improve performance, availability, and resilience of outage-related integrations.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, utilities teams, and cloud groups to translate requirements into designs.
• Maintain architecture docs, runbooks, and mentor engineers on API design and best practices.
