Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a skilled MuleSoft Developer to design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. The role focuses on building APIs, connectors, and data flows that connect systems and cloud services to support business operations.

This hybrid position requires 3 days per week in Cognizant offices in San Francisco, CA, with flexibility to collaborate with architects and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure MuleSoft solutions.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including integration development, API‑led connectivity, and application network design.
  • Hands‑on experience with MuleSoft platform administration, performance tuning, and security best practices.
  • Proven ability to design and architect scalable integration solutions using modern design patterns and architectural principles.
  • Deep understanding of integration needs within industrial manufacturing or similar complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, solution structuring, and estimation/resource planning for integration projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, cross‑functional collaboration, and driving execution excellence.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Relevant MuleSoft certifications, such as MuleSoft Certified Developer, Integration Architect and MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Design robust MuleSoft integration solutions that connect diverse enterprise applications to streamline product lifecycle management workflows and ensure reliable data synchronization across systems.
  • Develop reusable MuleSoft APIs and integration components that support the creation of a flexible application network, enabling rapid onboarding of new products and services.
  • Configure and optimize MuleSoft flows to improve performance, scalability, and resilience, ensuring that critical product lifecycle data is processed accurately and on time.
  • Implement integration patterns for product lifecycle management, including data orchestration, transformation, and routing, to support design, manufacturing, and service processes.
  • Collaborate with product lifecycle management domain experts to translate complex business requirements into clear MuleSoft integration designs that deliver measurable business value.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of existing integration landscapes to identify gaps and propose MuleSoft-based enhancements that reduce manual effort and system fragmentation.
  • Apply secure development practices within MuleSoft, ensuring that APIs and integrations protect sensitive product and customer data while complying with enterprise policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in MuleSoft environments, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable fixes that improve system reliability.
  • Configure and maintain MuleSoft environments in alignment with hybrid work arrangements, ensuring smooth deployment of integrations across development, testing, and production tiers.
  • Document MuleSoft integration designs, mappings, and operational procedures clearly to support knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional technology teams to ensure MuleSoft integrations align with enterprise architecture standards and support future expansion of the application network.

MuleSoft Developer

We are seeking a skilled MuleSoft Developer to design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. The ideal candidate will build APIs, connectors, and data integration flows that connect disparate systems, applications, and cloud services to support business operations. This role involves working closely with architects and business stakeholders to translate integration requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing Mule applications, while following best practices in API‑led connectivity and reusable design patterns.

In this role, you will:

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $85K - $110K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
