Job summary

Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall is seeking a friendly Counter Attendant to provide outstanding customer service at the restaurant counter. You will take orders, describe menu items, and help prepare beverages to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

In this role you will greet guests, upsell beverages, and ensure accuracy in orders while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a positive, professional appearance.

Position Summary:

The Counter Attendant provides exceptional customer service, takes orders, and ensures a smooth, welcoming atmosphere at the restaurant counter. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities :

• Greet customers warmly and provide high-quality service throughout their visit.
• Describe menu items and suggest beverages that may appeal to customers’ tastes, including providing details on coffee blends, preparation techniques, and allergen information.
• Take accurate orders and assist with preparing and serving food and beverages, including simple drinks (e.g., coffee and tea) and elaborate specialty drinks.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment according to health and sanitation standards.
• Monitor and check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Uphold company safety and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of guests and team members.
• Stock stations with necessary paper products and beverage preparation items.
• Operate cash registers and credit card machines accurately.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Proper communication skills to connect effectively with co-workers and guests.
• Possess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and culture.

Essential Physical Functions:

• Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Will frequently stand, walk, reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data.
• Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Must tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic.
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, and soy.
• Report to work in the required complete uniform.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and persona that reflects the restaurant’s image.
• Meet personal schedule requirements punctually.
• Be courteous, friendly, and pleasant.
