Job summary

Ted Taft Middle School in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Tier I SEBH Leader to guide MTSS implementation and lead district equity and professional learning initiatives. This role collaborates with building administrators and teachers to strengthen SEBH across the school and district.

The position emphasizes adult learning, equity, and ongoing professional development in a collaborative culture, with time beyond the standard contract day.

Qualifications

• Reflective, growth-oriented, seeks and acts upon feedback, and willingness to be coached.
• Deepen and maintain own knowledge of equity principles and culturally responsible pedagogy to identify and address inequitable practices.
• Knowledge of or the willingness to become knowledgeable in the High Reliability Schools framework.
• Knowledge and experiencing implementing a multi-tiered system of support.
• A commitment to supporting the growth of others and the belief that adult learning is essential to student learning.
• Previous experience in leadership positions desired, such as PLC Leader, Team Leader, or Department Chair preferred.
• Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
• Ability to design, present, and facilitate adult learning experiences preferred
• Knowledge of Professional Learning Community process and protocol
• Knowledge and experience with research-based strategies within digital literacy.
• Standard Teaching License with three years of teaching experience with at least one year of experience in the Cedar Rapids Community School District preferred (extra duty positions)

Responsibilities

• Provides direction and leadership for the program consistent with the District vision, mission, and focus.
• Works collaboratively with Tier I Team and building staff to carry out MTSS goals and actions.
• Monitors and evaluates MTSS implementation including Core SEBH curriculum and resources.
• Provides professional learning to teachers and PLC teams at the building level to support MTSS goals.
• Collaborates with building and district staff to ensure a safe, supportive culture.
• Engages in regular district professional learning to build capacity for leading MTSS.
