Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with Tier I Team and building staff to carry out MTSS goals and actions.
  • Monitors and evaluates MTSS implementation including Core SEBH curriculum and resources.
  • Provides professional learning to teachers and PLC teams at the building level to support MTSS goals.
  • Collaborates with building and district staff to ensure a safe, supportive culture.
  • Engages in regular district professional learning to build capacity for leading MTSS.

Tier I SEBH Leader

Position Funding Source: Teacher Leadership or Building Control (if not licensed teacher)

Supervised by: Building Administrator

Position Summary:

  • Tier I SEBH Leader works collaboratively with the building administration and teaching staff to create, facilitate, and evaluate the system for addressing social emotional behavioral health needs of students in a coordinated, systematic multi-tiered system of support. The MTSS Tier I SEBH Leader works collaboratively with the Cedar Rapids Community School District Teacher Leadership Team, District Administration, and teaching staff to support teachers and assure that we deliver on the District Vision of Every Learner: Future Ready.

Amount of Teacher Leader Service:

  • Additional time outside of the contract day accompanies this position

# of Positions: (Extra Duty Only)

  • 1 position per school

Compensation:

  • $500.00 annually

Essential Job Elements:

  • Works collaboratively with members of the building Tier I Team and building staff to create, communicate and carry out the goals and action steps of MTSS.
  • Works collaboratively with members of the building Tier I Team and building administration to monitor and evaluate the implementation of MTSS including, but not limited to, Core SEBH curriculum and resources.
  • Works collaboratively with members of the building Tier I Team and building staff to provide professional learning to all teachers and/orPLC teams of teachers at the building level to carry out the goals and action steps of MTSS.
  • Works collaboratively with the building and districtstaff to ensure a safe, supportive, and collaborative culture.
  • Engages in regular district professional learning opportunities to build capacity for leading and supporting the school's MTSS system.

Measures of Effectiveness and Professional Growth:

  • All Teacher Leader Positions will be evaluated annually in an effort to provide opportunities for the teacher to reflect upon his/her practice and administration to provide feedback to enhance professional growth.
  • CRCSD evaluation procedure will be used.
  • TLS rubric identifying levels of development will be used to monitor growth and determine if the teacher leader is performing at a satisfactory level to continue in the teacher leader role.
  • Personal Reflection on professional growth in relation to essential job elements.
  • Meets or exceeds all performance targets.
