Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated Teacher to deliver engaging instruction at North/Northwest Side campus. You will plan lessons, assess student progress, and maintain records in alignment with CPS standards.

You will collaborate with staff, communicate with families, and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes. This role requires a valid Illinois teaching certificate.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and all coursework required to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Valid Illinois teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (PEL or ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching practices aligned with state certification requirements.
• Ability to communicate with parents/guardians and collaborate with staff to support student learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional lessons and prepare materials aligned with curriculum objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain accurate records of attendance and achievement.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress, attendance and conduct.
• Promote positive behavior and apply CPS Uniform Discipline Code as appropriate.
