Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA seeks an Academic & Behavioral Intervention Specialist (ABIS) to provide intensive academic and behavioral support to students requiring Tier II and Tier III interventions. The ABIS serves as the primary case manager for an assigned caseload and coordinates academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional supports designed to improve student outcomes.

Through intervention planning and progress monitoring, the ABIS helps students overcome barriers

Qualifications

• Ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Problem-solving and confidentiality skills.
• Experience with MTSS, PBIS, RTI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary case manager for an assigned caseload of students receiving Tier II or Tier III supports.
• Develop and maintain individualized intervention plans.
• Coordinate academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional supports.
• Monitor student progress toward identified goals and document progress.
• Facilitate intervention review meetings and adjust supports based on data.
• Provide direct academic support and coaching to assigned students.
• Support organization, planning, study skills, goal setting, and academic engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement classroom supports.
• Conduct regular student check-ins and coaching sessions.
• Implement behavioral interventions and track data.
• Engage families through regular communication and conferences.
• Connect families with available resources and support services.
