Job summary

The MTSS Education Support Professional (ESP) at Tacoma Public Schools provides academic and behavioral support under certified staff supervision. The role involves working with students individually and in small groups, collecting data, and assisting with interventions designed to meet diverse needs.

Responsibilities include tracking progress, maintaining records, and collaborating with teachers, counselors, and families to ensure a coordinated MTSS approach and positive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete the Education Testing Service paraeducator assessment or possess credentials.
• Possess specified college credits or an associated credential per WA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with MTSS program delivery and instructional support under certified staff supervision.
• Implement targeted academic/behavioral interventions in Tier 1–3 as directed.
• Track and maintain student progress data in district tracking systems.
