Job Description

Windham Northeast Supervisory Union (WNESU) is seeking a Student Services Behavior Coach. The Student Services Behavior Coach will work collaboratively with central office and school administrators and staff to provide training, consultation and coaching that addresses school‑wide, targeted and individualized behavior goals. The coach uses data and evidence‑based practices to enhance the effective delivery of behavior intervention techniques for supporting students, using a collaborative model and WNESU’s MTSS framework. This position will also provide training on non‑violent crisis intervention to staff.

Position Type: Full‑time

Salary: $50,000 to $86,242 Per Year

Job Requirements
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s or Specialist Degree in Special Education or related field preferred.
  • Holds or is eligible for Vermont Special Education Teacher credential.
  • Five (5) years of successful classroom experience in a related area.
  • Experience in supporting the social, emotional and behavioral needs of students using a multi‑tiered system of supports framework, trauma‑informed approaches, and Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS).
  • Skilled at developing individualized education programs (IEPs), facilitating IEP meetings and collecting progress monitoring data related to IEP and intervention plan goals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of conditions affecting learning and behavior, functional behavior assessments / behavior intervention plans, and crisis management.
  • Ability to conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop behavioral intervention plans.
  • Certified in non‑violent crisis intervention, or has the ability to obtain and maintain certification and provide training to others.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities to apply and interpret federal, state and local laws and policies related to educational service requirements for students.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co‑workers, students, families, administrators and the community and working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to analyze and present data to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with complete security.
  • Technological skills including the use of Google Suite and other tools for data tracking and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and time management skills.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive required due to travel between district schools.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
