Job summary

Mason Public Schools in Michigan is seeking a part-time MTSS Aide (5 Hour) at Harvey Education Center to support students with MTSS behavior interventions.

You will work with the MTSS Behavior Specialist and School Social Worker, documenting student behavior, implementing tiered supports, and helping promote a positive school climate.

The position requires at least 18, preferred 2 years in early childhood/elementary settings, and CPI/Non-Violent crisis training; salary $15/hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred Associate's degree or credits in early childhood education, elementary education, child development or child-related field
• At least 2 years' work experience in an Early Childhood Education or Elementary setting.
• Experience with Early Childhood Special Education and Pre-K/Preschool Settings
• Experience with restorative practices and trauma-informed approach
• Competent computer and technology based skills (Microsoft Office, email, electronic record keeping, student information systems).
• Demonstrated history of strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to support building wide systems for behavior expectations
• Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, De-Escalation
• CPI training preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists MTSS Behavior Specialist and classroom teachers/staff with the implementation of tiered behavior supports, plans, and intervention programs that address the behavioral needs of students
• Assists with PBIS and social emotional needs of students
• Shall use developmentally appropriate practices to provide successful academic, social and emotional experiences for all children
• In cooperation with lead teachers, thoroughly documents student behavior, and communicates with staff
• Ability to manage situations and guide others with the physical and mental rigors of being a behavior support staff member
• Reliable attendance and physical presence are required
• Maintain confidentiality for all school/program-related information
• Must follow all childcare license rules and regulations, grant funded program rules and regulations, Board policies, administrative regulations, operational procedures, and labor agreements
• Perform other duties as required by the building Principal, Interventionist and Mason Public Schools

Job Summary

The MTSS Aide helps to support students by leading the implementation of MTSS frameworks with a focus on behavior intervention and positive behavior supports. Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking
• The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day
• Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with some travel to other schools or field trip locations
• Implement crisis interventions, which can include lifting (up to 50 pounds), implementing physical intervention strategies, and managing escalated student behaviors.

$15.00 per hour
