Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (Xilinx, Inc. subsidiary) is seeking an MTS Systems Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing in Austin, TX.

The role emphasizes architecture, process definition, and cross-functional collaboration. You will contribute to frameworks across multiple products, provide technical expertise, and evaluate full design cycles from high-level concepts to hardware/software integration.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering or data architecting role; or Bachelor’s + five (5) years progressive experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, infrastructure reliability, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Conceive system interfaces and prototypes; identify and resolve design weaknesses; influence future product architecture.
• Evaluate process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, timing and power use; apply engineering principles to design and testing.

Job Role and Responsibility

Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Systems Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design a complete and complex framework, system or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company products.

Alternate combination of education and experience

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or closely related engineering or data architecting role.

Specific skills required

Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following:
