Job summary

Collinear AI is seeking a Member of Technical Staff (MTS - Research) to bridge frontier AI research with production engineering in Sunnyvale, California. You will design ultra-realistic SimLabs and evaluation stacks, translating novel RL ideas into scalable infrastructure that drives real-world metrics.

You will collaborate daily with founders and research staff to push AI reliability, verify policies, and iterate rapidly from infrastructure to model behavior—shaping the roadmap for frontier AI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS, Math, Physics, or equivalent prove-of-work.
• Strong Python and CLI-first software engineering discipline.
• Solid understanding of foundation models, evaluation, and optimization.
• Experience designing reproducible experiments and data-driven results.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic environments and ultra-realistic simulators for learning.
• Develop rigorous, policy-aware evaluation methods beyond benchmarks.
• Run high-quality post-training experiments across CPT, SFT, RL.
• Iterate across ML stack from infrastructure to model behavior.
• Collaborate with founders and research staff to shape roadmaps.
