MARYLAND TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (MTA)

ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER

Salary starts at $58,758.00 and increases upon graduation from the academy.

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking Entry Level Police Officers to join the existing MTA force serving MTA Bus, Metro, Light Rail, and MARC Train/Commuter Bus Systems.

The duties include enforcing laws, rules, and regulations; patrolling; responding to trespassers and suspicious persons; directing traffic; issuing warnings and summonses; making arrests; investigating incidents; writing reports; responding to emergencies; rendering first aid; transporting suspects; and other related duties. This position involves handling firearms.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Age/Citizenship: At least 20 years old and a U.S. citizen.
  • High school diploma or GED recognized by Maryland.

Required Documentation

After passing the written exam, provide:

  • Copy of current Maryland Driver's License.

A valid Maryland driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
