The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking Entry Level Police Officers to join the existing MTA force serving MTA Bus, Metro, Light Rail, and MARC Train/Commuter Bus Systems.
The duties include enforcing laws, rules, and regulations; patrolling; responding to trespassers and suspicious persons; directing traffic; issuing warnings and summonses; making arrests; investigating incidents; writing reports; responding to emergencies; rendering first aid; transporting suspects; and other related duties. This position involves handling firearms.
Position Requirements:
Applicants will be notified of exam dates after application review. A six-month waiting period applies if previously tested.
After passing the written exam, provide:
A valid Maryland driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
Complete an online application (Form MJ-45) via MDOT's Employment Center. Resumes alone are not accepted. Ensure all experience and requirements are fully listed. The candidate may undergo background and reference checks, and drug testing may be required.
