Description

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for MTA Lateral Police Officers. This position requires current certification as a Police Officer from the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission (MPTSC). The role involves serving MTA Bus, Metro, Light Rail, and MARC Train/Commuter Bus systems.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen.
  • High school diploma or GED recognized by Maryland.

Required Documentation

  • Current certification card (if employed as a Maryland Police Officer)
  • Recent driving record (not over 30 days)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Maryland Driver's License

Selection Process

Includes an oral interview, background check, polygraph, psychological evaluation, medical exam, drug testing, and physical agility test. Candidates must meet training standards set by MPTSC and be able to work variable shifts.

Licenses & Certifications

A valid Maryland driver's license and current MPTSC certification are required. The driving record must meet MTA standards.

Additional Information
