Job summary

Franciscan Health Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist for evening shifts. The role involves specimen processing, test performance and reporting results in line with established procedures.

The candidate will participate in quality control and quality management activities and may perform specimen collection as needed. A minimum education of an associate degree or higher in a related field is required, with preference for relevant clinical laboratory experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform tests (waived, moderate and high complexity as applicable).
• Report results according to established procedures.
• Participate in quality control procedures and comply with QA/QM standards.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Testing performed will include waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. He/she will report results of all tests performed according to established procedures. In addition this individual will participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies. He/she will perform specimen collection as necessary.
