Job summary

Alverno Laboratories is seeking a dedicated individual for the Central Laboratory- General Laboratory role in Hammond, Indiana. This position includes responsibilities for specimen processing, conducting tests, and reporting results following established procedures. Ideal candidates will hold an appropriate degree in laboratory science or medical technology, complemented by participation in quality control.

The role requires compliance with quality assurance standards by regulatory agencies. Weekend and holiday shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Bachelor degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with at least 1 year clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Central Laboratory- General Laboratory

Location: 2434 Interstate Plaza Dr. Hammond, IN 46324

Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation

FTE: 1.0

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Testing performed will include waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. He/she will report results of all tests performed according to established procedures. In addition this individual will participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies. He/she will perform specimen collection as necessary.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• MLT - Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• MT - Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Or - Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences. At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.
