Job summary

Franciscan Health Orthopedic Carmel Lab in Carmel, IN is seeking an evening-shift laboratory professional (MLT/MT) for 0.6 FTE. Responsibilities include specimen processing, test performance, and reporting results with adherence to CLIA and CAP standards.

The role involves active participation in quality control and quality management procedures, plus occasional specimen collection. Weekend/holiday on-call may be required.

Qualifications

• MLT: Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• MT: Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Or: Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences with at least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing, test performance and reporting of results.
• Ensure results reported per established procedures and participate in quality control.
• Contribute to quality assurance and comply with CLIA, CAP and JCAHO standards; perform specimen collection as needed.

Location: 10767 Illinois Street Carmel, IN 40632

Shift: Evening shift with start time between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Hours to vary as business needs dictate. Weekend and holiday on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

This individual is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. Testing performed will include waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. He/she will report results of all tests performed according to established procedures. In addition this individual will participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies. He/she will perform specimen collection as necessary.

Qualifications

• MLT: Associate’s degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• MT: Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Or: Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences. At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.
