Purpose/Summary:
The MSV Naval Architect is responsible for developing alteration, modification, conversion and technical solutions and upgrades for the MSV program.
The MSV Naval Architect work location is in the corporate office in Norfolk, Virginia. The MSV Naval Architect performs periodic travel to the ship or other locations as required. On occasion, such as for special projects, the MSV Naval Architect may have other company personnel reporting into him or her in the form of a cross-functional team.

Travel Requirements:
Extensive travel (including foreign travel and travel by car, boat, ship, and airplane) will be required for shipyard maintenance, vessel visits for quality assurance and management, and on short notice for casualties, investigations, or as directed by management.

General office setting: Typically, the employee may sit comfortably at a computer terminal with short breaks or lunch. Some bending/stooping, reaching above shoulder level, walking, standing, and carrying light items (up to 25 pounds) are expected. Ability to hear and speak clearly using phone/headset is required.
Operations setting: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push/pull, kneel, squat, reach, and twist. Ability to lift 10-100 lbs using appropriate equipment is necessary, with such activities expected 70-100% of the time.
