Job summary

Contech in Mansfield, TX is seeking a Design Engineer to develop and refine MSE wall system designs, delivering reliable engineering solutions for our mechanically stabilized earth product line. You will perform analyses, coordinate with project teams, and ensure compliance with standards.

Collaborative role with geotechnical and civil engineers, contractors, and QA/QC personnel. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis and design of MSE wall systems, including internal and external stability, and connection design.
• Provide design support, specifications, solution development, installation guidance, and project‑cycle problem‑solving for our internal sales team, clients, and customers.
• Build strong relationships with project managers, geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, contractors, operations teams, and QA/QC personnel to ensure project success.
• Communicate key metrics, recommendations, and technical insights to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with plant managers, project managers on project status updates and product specifications, testing, and improvements.
• Review drawings and calculations for quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering intent and applicable standards.
