Job summary

Lonza’s Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team is seeking a Process Scientist, I to support technology transfer and commercial manufacturing activities in a GMP environment. You will apply scientific and engineering expertise to help deliver life-changing therapies, collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to process documentation and approvals.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in a related field (MS/PhD preferred) with experience in process development or tech transfer,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• Experience in supporting manufacturing processes, tech transfer, or process development.
• Knowledge of GMP-regulated environments.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Experience authoring technical documentation.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for technology transfer and manufacturing process support activities.
• Develop process understanding, perform risk assessments, and support process improvement.
• Author and review process descriptions, batch records, change controls, and technical docs.
• Monitor manufacturing performance, analyze data, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and quality assessments.
• Represent MSAT on customer-facing and internal project teams, including audits.
• Support lot release activities and ensure compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements.

What we are looking for

• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.

• Experience authoring and reviewing technical documentation.
