Job summary

The City of Sandy Springs seeks an experienced Stormwater Permit Manager to lead the city’s stormwater regulatory compliance efforts and protect water quality. This role oversees the stormwater team, coordinates with departments, regulators, consultants, and community stakeholders to ensure MS4 permit compliance and effective management of stormwater infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Five years of stormwater permit compliance experience.
• Experience coordinating MS4 permits with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, staff and the public.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Receive, investigate, and resolve citizen stormwater complaints and communicate results to residents and stakeholders.
• Coordinate inspections and maintenance of City stormwater infrastructure, including work orders and contractor progress.
• Inspect City properties and designated infrastructure.
• Prepare reports demonstrating compliance with MS4 permit requirements.
• Coordinate stormwater education and community involvement activities with residents and City employees.
• Work with City departments, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to meet MS4 permit metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve water quality in Sandy Springs.
• Support stormwater investigations with legal document research, interviews, and field assessments.
