Job summary

The City of Sandy Springs is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to organize and direct our multimodal traffic engineering program. You’ll lead efforts to reduce congestion, improve safety for drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians, and work toward the city’s goal of zero fatal and serious injury crashes by 2040.

Responsibilities include managing safety analyses, roadway improvements, and policy updates while collaborating with City leadership and the community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in transportation/traffic (Master’s preferred).
  • Seven (7) years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering (Master’s degree may substitute for two years).
  • Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PTOE and RSP certifications preferred.
  • Strong background in traffic software (Synchro, VISSIM, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.) and project management.

Additional Information:
  • Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
