Job summary

Mid South Wire is seeking a Vice-President and General Manager to oversee Safety, Environmental Compliance, Quality, Production and Cost across manufacturing processes. The role reports directly to the President and drives strategic direction and operational excellence in the plant.

The ideal candidate holds a BA degree with at least five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and will lead a team to sustain growth and compliance while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
• Five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs the plant's manufacturing operations including production, manufacturing engineering, facilities/equipment maintenance, and other manufacturing support functions.
• Develops and implements the division’s long-term strategic plan.
• Ensures that quality, health, safety and environmental compliance guidelines are implemented.
• Manages and develops support staff to ensure business growth and integrity.
• Drives continual improvements in productivity, quality, service, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Develops and trains systems to measure key elements at plants and to reward or discipline responsible parties.
• Maintains and communicates Company values and policies to customers, suppliers, associates, and the community.
• Performs market trend research and monitors geopolitical headwinds and tariffs.
• Assists sales in preparing competitive bids using cost data.
• Advises on corporate budgeting and forecasting.
• Actively represents the company in trade organizations.

The Vice-President and General Manager is responsible for Safety, Environmental Compliance, Quality, Production and Cost as it relates to the manufacturing processes. The Vice-President and General Manager must assure that the organization’s production objectives are efficiently achieved while maintaining consistent quality requirements. This position reports directly to the President.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Directs the activities of the plant's manufacturing operations including production, manufacturing engineering, facilities/equipment maintenance, and other manufacturing support function

• Directs the development and implementation of the division’s long-term strategic plan.
• Ensures that quality, health, safety and environmental compliance guidelines are implemented
• Responsible for the management and development of support staff to ensure business growth and integrity.
• Ensures continual improvement of productivity, quality, service, safety and environmental compliance within the division
• Responsible for developing and training implementing systems to measure important elements at the plants and to reward and discipline responsible parties.
• Responsible for maintaining, supporting, and communicating Company values and policies to customers, suppliers, all associates, and the community
• Conducts Extensive research on market trends
• Monitors geopolitical headwinds, tariffs, etc.
• Assists sales in preparing competitive bids using our latest material cost and conversion costs
• Advises on corporate budget planning and forecasting
• Active in in trade organizations as a public face of the company
