Job summary

Point72's Market Intelligence team invites MS/PhD data scientist interns to work on proprietary research. You’ll assist Analytics team in uncovering insights about companies, industries, and the economy through data science and engineering of alternative data sets.

Internship is 10 weeks in New York office. You'll gain exposure to modeling, data collection, and collaboration with investment professionals, portfolio managers, and compliance; you will develop technical, writing, and presentation

Qualifications

• Pursuit of master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in machine learning, statistical models, and data mining tools.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, Spark, and/or SQL.
• Exceptional understanding of statistics and advanced modeling techniques.
• Ability to communicate complex analyses and results clearly.
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Support Analytics team in applying data science to investment decisions.
• Mine and model large, unstructured data sets.
• Collaborate with investment professionals and Compliance.
• Handle methodology selection, data collection, quality, and analysis.
• Deliver research findings to investment teams and internal clients.
