Job summary

Comal ISD Mountain Valley Middle School in Canyon Lake, Texas seeks a part-time Math Tutor to help middle school students master key math concepts in a supportive tutoring setting. Starting date is immediate. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree preferred) and be fingerprinted.

A Texas Teaching Certificate is preferred. Prior experience with students is helpful, and the role requires strong organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Tutor and work with individual students or groups in math.
• Work with classroom teacher and campus administration to address weaknesses from assessments.
• Maintain an orderly work area.
• Keep records of student progress, behavior, and attendance.
• Maintain strict student confidentiality.
• Keep supervisor informed of student needs or problems.
• Communicate with teachers regarding students' progress and needs.
• Provide a positive, calm, and consistent learning environment.
