Job summary

Clear Creek Amana Middle School in Tiffin, IA, seeks a Long-term Substitute Teacher for 6th Grade Science to provide instruction during a teacher’s absence and maintain classroom routines.

You will implement lesson plans, reinforce behavior expectations, and collaborate with staff and families to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth. Iowa licensure with Substitute Authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Requires Iowa licensure with Substitute Authorization Certificate.
• Experience teaching PreK-12th grade preferred.

Job Summary

Provides instruction in the curricular areas and behavioral skills to students in 6th Grade Science during teacher's absence.

Job Responsibilities

• In the teacher's absence, follow the lesson plans provided to ensure programming associated with core curriculum and behavioral skills
• Follow behavior management plans for students
• Assists and collaborates with the administration, school counselor, staff, parents and students on matters pertaining to academic achievement and social/emotional/behavioral goals
• Maintains appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data
• Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Appropriate State of Iowa Licensure including Substitute Authorization Certificate
• Experience in classroom teaching PreK 12th grade preferred.
• Initiative to be a self starter
• Intuitive to the needs of students

• Ability to use good judgment
