Job summary

Mexican Sugar is seeking a Barback to assist the service staff and ensure a smooth shift for the entire restaurant. The role involves running food to guests, stocking water and bar supplies, and maintaining a clean, organized bar area with proper safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 lbs, and have knowledge of menu items to answer guest questions.

Qualifications

Barback

Assist the service staff in any way possible to ensure great guest experiences and a smooth shift for the entire restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Interacting with guests and staff members professionally and positively.
• Assist the server staff in filling water, as well as pre-busser.
• Running all food to the guests both inside, outside and upstairs.
• Ensuring water bottles are stocked.
• Refilling and drinks as needed.
• Empty bus tubs and prebus the dining room.
• Make batch cocktails according to proper recipes, as well as understand the batch system to ensure proper changing of canisters.
• Arriving for the shift on time and ready to work in proper uniform.
• Use all machines in a safe, sanitary manner, while ensuring pars for the dining room and line are met.
• Following directions from management, as well as the servers and hosts.
• All food runners should have extensive knowledge of the menu and should be able to answer any guest’s questions about food or drinks.
• Obtain and update any required certifications. Set up and break down the bar area before and after each shift, while cleaning floors, bar top, and wells.
• Emptying trash cans, putting away dishes and making sure the expo line is set up for success.
