Job summary

Mexican Sugar is seeking a Barback to assist the service staff and ensure a smooth shift for the entire restaurant. The role involves running food to guests, stocking water and bar supplies, and maintaining a clean, organized bar area with proper safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 lbs, and have knowledge of menu items to answer guest questions.

Qualifications

• Standing for long periods.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to read and follow recipes for juices and batch cocktails.
• Properly use a knife and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintain all necessary certifications.

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests and staff professionally.
• Assist servers with water and pre-bussing.
• Deliver food to guests inside, outside, and upstairs.
• Keep water bottles stocked and drinks refilled.
• Empty bus tubs and prebus the dining room.
• Set up and break down bar area before and after shifts.
• Know the menu well and answer guest questions about food and drinks.
• Ensure safe, sanitary operation of all machines and equipment.
