Job summary

Regional School District No. 7 is seeking a dedicated Middle School Boys Basketball Coach to lead the development of student-athletes in a competitive, educationally focused athletic program at Northwestern Regional Middle School.

The coach will foster skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive team culture aligned with district values. This is a stipend position for the 2026-2027 winter season, with a $3,415.00 stipend.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience or significant basketball knowledge.
• Ability to work effectively with middle school students.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Successful completion of required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise practices, games, and team activities for the Middle School Boys Basketball program.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills, game strategy, and conditioning for middle school athletes.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that supports student growth and well-being.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, school administration, and athletic department staff.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and CIAC rules and expectations.
• Coordinate equipment needs, uniform distribution, and facility use.
• Model and reinforce positive sportsmanship and respectful conduct at all times.
• Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and competitions.
• Attend required coaches' meetings, trainings, and professional development as assigned.

This is a stipend position via NTA contractual agreement: for 2026-2027 SY = $3,415.00
