Job summary

PDS Tech, Inc. in Irving, TX on-site is seeking a direct materials buyer to manage MRP-driven purchasing and direct material acquisitions. You will coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure smooth ramp-up and full-rate production.

You will review requisitions, issue POs, support new product introductions, and drive cost reductions while maintaining accuracy and supplier performance. Strong SAP, Excel/Sheets skills, and a detail-oriented approach are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of direct materials buying in manufacturing or related field.
• MRP experience with SAP for purchasing decisions and planning.
• Excel or Google Sheets power-user for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong procurement, inventory and supplier management knowledge.
• Self-directed with ability to prioritize in a high-velocity environment.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Buy direct materials and services to keep production running.
• Act as central point of contact linking internal teams, suppliers and customers.
• Review requisitions, compare supplier bids, and issue POs on time.
• Execute purchasing driven by MRP with SAP.
• Support procurement for new product introductions and current products.
• Coordinate last-time buys for end-of-life components.
• Hit targets for on-time delivery, inventory balance and price variance.
• Analyze forecast accuracy and communicate findings clearly.
• Maintain standard costs for assigned parts.
• Resolve shortages, allocations and discrepancies quickly.
• Manage supplier performance with reviews and improvement actions.
• Be audit-ready for ISO and internal findings; drive data integrity improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
