Job summary

SAPA Transmission, a DoD contractor, seeks a detailed and proactive MRO Buyer in Shelby Township, MI. You will source, negotiate, and purchase MRO materials, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to meet procurement targets.

Responsibilities include processing POs in Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring accuracy and budget alignment, and driving cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of purchasing experience in MRO, manufacturing, or facilities.
• Experience with an ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of MRO materials, spare parts, and maintenance-driven purchasing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase MRO materials and services including tools, equipment, spare parts, safety supplies, and facility maintenance needs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to identify and fulfill procurement needs.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to avoid production delays.
• Process purchase orders within Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring accuracy and alignment with budget and approval processes.
• Liaising with customers, suppliers, and distributors.
• Track supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.
• Manage inventory levels for MRO items and coordinate with stores or inventory management teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in audits, internal reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks or potential delays, and take corrective actions to keep development and production on track.
