The Job:

This position supports the timely procurement of indirect materials and supplies required for the ongoing maintenance and operations of the facility. These items include spare parts, tools, safety equipment, cleaning supplies, office materials, and other consumables. The MRO Buyer is responsible for entering and managing purchase orders in Ariba and SAP, partnering with vendors and internal teams to track orders, resolve routine issues, and ensure timely availability of materials. This role works closely with MRO crib attendants and service providers (e.g., BlackHawk) to support inventory accuracy and avoid disruptions to daily operations.

Essential Job Functions

• Create Purchase requisitions in Ariba based on requirements quoted by internal customers (Production, Engineering, Materials...)
• Follow up on requisitions approval process (Ariba)
• Follow up with suppliers on order status, shipping confirmations, and any delays or changes.
• Reconcile receipts & invoices for all open purchase orders on a timely manner
• Follow up on vendor communications related to Purchase order updates, Invoice reconciliation and payment schedules
• Follow up with receiving personnel to reconcile SAP receipts related to MRO purchase orders
• Maintain constant communication with MRO requestors to resolve receiving discrepancies for SAP & ARIBA
• Attend and support Black Hawk collaboration meetings
• Create weekly Purchase orders for consigned & non consigned parts
• Review MIN MAX & inventory levels for back hawk parts
• Actively Participate in Black Hawk VAST (Cost reduction initiatives)
• Review and validate Excess & Obsolete inventory with Black Hawk
• Resolve AP issues in a timely manner as needed for supplier payment to meet SBD standards.
• Timely manage all supplier returns and company credits related to supplier quality issues for AP.
• Attending daily production meetings and utilizing tools, such as reporting of inventory status and using key components tracker to increase efficiency in the department
• Any other duties as assigned.
• Create and maintain blanket purchase orders in Ariba and SAP for indirect materials and services.
• Communicate daily with crib attendants and maintenance teams to ensure operational needs are met.
• Submit and follow through on requests to resolve invoice issues and payment holds with Accounts Payable.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier documentation in SAP.
• Provide updates during team meetings regarding open POs, delivery timelines, and shortages.
• Escalate purchasing or supplier-related issues as needed to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of purchasing or supply chain support experience, ideally in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP and Ariba or similar procurement systems preferred.
• Familiarity with basic purchasing procedures and inventory control concepts.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred understanding of and experience in Lean Manufacturing
• Manufacturing background with knowledge of and experience in scheduling, bills -of - material, routing, procurement and manufacturing requirements/resource planning
• Good communication that is able to relay information, priorities or directions to supervisors and operators
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with general supervision.
