Job summary

AW Technical Center USA is seeking a purchaser to manage MRO sourcing and supplier relationships in Durham, NC. The role focuses on supporting cost, quality, and delivery goals while partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance to drive savings.

Ideal candidates will have experience with MRP, blueprints, and ERP/Oracle-based document generation, with strong Excel/PowerPoint skills to analyze data and prepare proposals.

Qualifications

• Experience with MRO purchasing and knowledge of MRP systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
• Strong cost-analysis skills and supplier proposal evaluation.
• Proficient in Oracle and Microsoft Office tools; Excel expertise preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

• Issue purchase orders for MRO items that support cost, quality and delivery goals.
• Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance and act to deliver cost savings.
• Negotiate cost savings/cost avoidance with suppliers.
• Support inventory reduction initiatives.
• Build long-term supplier partnership relationships.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of MRP systems.
• Experience in purchasing with anunderstanding of MRO.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Read and understand blueprints.
• Solicit/analyze proposals to achieve lowest total cost objectives.
• Generate/disseminate required documents through the use of Oracle, Microsoft Office, and related systems, and effectively communicate throughout.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
