Job summary

UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs, CO seeks an MRITechnologist to perform MRI procedures per scope of practice and organizational standards.

Responsibilities include patient education, contrast administration within scope, image acquisition, QC, and reporting results. ARRT MR certification and ARRT Radiography registration are required, with state licensure as applicable.

  • ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) certification required.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • MRI registry or eligibility with registry within 12 months by ARRT Radiography or ARMRIT.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and orders; educate patient on procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media within scope; monitor patient condition.
  • Prepare equipment, set exposure factors, perform QC and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Position patient; perform imaging; analyze results and report scan findings.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Job Summary

Performs magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Location

UCHealth Yampa Valley Med Center, Steamboat Springs, CO, USA.

Schedule

Full Time, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks). Days shift.

Pay

$45.44 - $63.62 per hour, dependent on relevant experience.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews patient history, physician's orders and does scheduling. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including re-positioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • Registered as a Technologist (RT) and registered in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or registry eligible with completing of registry within 12 months by ARRT Radiography or by ARMRIT. State licensure if required by law.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Minimum Experience: None Required.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
