Job summary

OhioHealth in Kentucky is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform imaging procedures, prepare patients, and support radiologists during tests.

You will operate MRI equipment, ensure safety, manage image transfers to PACS, and participate in quality control. Night shift, 36 hours per week, with emphasis on accuracy and patient care.

ARRT or NMTCB certification and BLS are required, along with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or NMTCB acceptable.
  • Must possess good organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operates MRI equipment including magnet, injectors, consoles, monitors and cardiac gating equipment.
  • Adjusts pulse sequences according to body part and diagnosis.
  • Demonstrates correct anatomical positioning.
  • Performs daily safety and quality control checks.
  • Sends images to PACS for interpretation.
  • Transfers images to independent console for manipulation.
  • Reformats and post-processes images for radiologist interpretation.
  • Administers MRI contrast agents.
  • Maintains focus on safety, quality and efficiency as an HRO.

Job Description Summary

The position prepares patient for testing (including thorough screening questioning), assists the radiologist during testing, operates the MRI equipment for a variety of procedures, maintains supply inventory in assigned rooms, and covers call duty, as assigned.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Operates MRI equipment, including the magnet, injectors, independent consoles, physiological patient monitors, and cardiac gating/monitoring equipment.
  • Uses equipment to properly adjust pulse sequences according to body part and diagnosis.
  • Demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
  • Performs daily safety and quality control checks for the system.
  • Sends images to PACS for interpretation.
  • Transfers images to independent console for further manipulation.
  • Reformats and performs post processing of images for radiologist interpretation.
  • Administers MRI contrast agents.
  • As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
